ITANAGAR, May 15:
The 7-day Umang festival 2017 being held from May 15-21 next organized by the Arunachal Pradesh Paralympic Association (APPA) at the Nikum Niya Ground Nirjuli was formally declared open today by Deputy Commissioner Itanagar capital complex, Prince Dhawan along with Tarh Nachung, Dy. Chief Councilor, IMC as Chief Guest and Guest of Honour respectively.
The DC said that the occasion was a celebration of Para Olympic Association and termed the differently abled as ‘super able as despite facing day to day challenges, they are still doing productive work.’ He also heaped praises at their singing prowess on display.
Further, the DC requested the APPA to identify places such as in schools, government offices and public places in the twin cities for installing ramps and the same shall be funded from DC Untied fund.
