PASIGHAT, Aug 2: A coordination meeting on Farmers’ Identification Survey was conducted today with the aim of discussing methods for reaching the target of doubling of farmers’ income by 2022.
DC Dr. Kinny Singh while chairing the meeting opined that although it is a mammoth task, it is also the need of the hour. Briefing the officers, DC said that the strategy for doubling farmers’ income encompasses cost efficient higher productivity to capture maximum value on every grain/product and instructed the officers of Agriculture, Horticulture, Veterinary, Fishery, Textile & Handloom Departments to conduct survey to identify farmers and their lands, productivities etc and submit report/status accordingly to the respective Circle Officers within a week for formation of ‘Farmers Data Base’.
Plans and strategies would be finally forwarded to the government by the district administration for modernization of technologies, efficient management of bumper productivities, marketing, risk management and sustainability etc.
The DC also instructed the officers to submit status reports of all the current beneficial schemes in East Siang district to her office.
The meeting was attended by the ADCs of Pasighat, Mebo and Ruksin, BDOs, COs and HoDs. DIPRO
