PASIGHAT, Sep 23: East Siang DC, Dr. Kinny Singh flagged off a bicycle rally here today to mark Ayushman Diwas 2019 from Gandhi Chowk, to Bakin Pertin General Hospital & Trainining Centre(BPGH& TC) via National Highway in the morning. The rally was aimed to spread awareness among the people on Central Health Care Scheme of Ayushman Bharat - also known as PM Jan Arogya Yojana and Chief Minister’s Arogya Yojana (CMAAY) to bring the people of the district under health coverage and also to promote the message of fitness and proper nutrition, plastic and pollution free Clean East Siang.
Huge number of participants joined the Bicycle rally led by DC , Dr. Kinny Singh and SP, Rajiv Ranjan Singh among others.
Later, addressing the gathering, the DC said that various lifestyle diseases can be prevented and managed through timely screening, physical activities and proper nutrition. As such Govt . of India has upgraded all PHCs and sub-centres to Health and Wellness Centres for holistic approach to healthcare .
She further called upon CBOs, students, frontline workers like ASHAs and Anganwadi workers to inform the benefits to every family for coverage under Ayushman Bharat / PM Jan Arogya Yojana and Chief Ministers Arogya Arunachal Yojana (CMAAY) , which provides insurance coverage of Rs. 5 lakhs per family adding that the efforts should be intensified in all the blocks of the district and reach every household.
The DC also felicitated of ASHAs Iryam Panggam and Tobi Doke for their outstanding performances. The duo also received bicycles from the DC. The DC highly appreciated the role of frontline workers in the health sector, as bridge between the people and the health department.
Jt. DHS , Dr. D. Raina, DMO Dr. Kaling Dai also dwelt on the importance of the occasion to create more awareness.
DRCHO , Dr. T.Gao, highlighted that PMJAY which is the world’s largest healthcare scheme and CMAAY provide cover of Rs. 5 lakhs per family per year for secondary and tertiary care hospitalization in cashless at empanelled Government and Private Hospitals. BPGH Pasighat and TRIHMS Naharlagun, and 19 Private Hospitals are empanelled under both CMAAY.
The NCD screening on the occasion was availed by large number of Police personnel along with general public. The programme was organized under the aegis of District Health Society, East Siang.
Earlier, a Cleanliness drive was also organized at Pasighat Market area under Swacchta Hi Seva . DIPRO
