AALO, Apr 25: The District Level Committee on Border Area Development Programme reviewed schemes implemented during the year 2016-17 and new schemes to be taken up during 20 17-18 in a meeting held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner West Siang, Gamli Padu on Monday.

Stressing on judicious and optimum utilization of fund made available to Mechuka-Tato and Pidi- Monigong CD Block, the DC called for proper monitoring of all schemes by the Planning department so that fruits of development benefit border people. Abstract cost of 
estimate and sanctioned amount of many of the need based security schemes should be provided to ITBP in the borders and joint inspection should be carried out after completion and completion report of from the Para military forces is mandatory, he said.

The DC also stressed on incorporating basic services requirements like drinking water supply, 
furniture in schools, and procurement of medicines in the schemes to ameliorate the condition of border people.
In-charge DPO Hengi Riba dwelt at length on status of schemes undertaken in the year 2016-17, new proposals to be taken up during 2017-18, funding pattern and ground realities through power point presentations.
