Khonsa, Nov 27: A District Level Task Force for Immunization (DTFI) meeting was held today under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, Tirap P.N. Thungon here at Kamlesh Joshi Conference Hall to discuss ways and means to reach the district’s immunization targets.
All MO I/Cs from CHC Deomali, PHC Borduria, Dadam, Lazu, Natun Kheti, Kapu, Soha and Paniduria, CDPO Lazu and representative from ICDS Department, Khonsa attended the meeting. DC urged all MO I/Cs, departments, Anganwadi workers, ASHAs and teachers to work dedicatedly and play a pivotal role in spreading public awareness in every household to ensure that no children in the age group of 0-2 years is left out of vaccination. He further suggested the DMO and all MO I/Cs to approach church leaders for helping in motivating parents  about immunization to achieve 100% target. RI performances of 1st and 2nd quarter of 2019-20 were reviewed and antigen-wise coverage was shown through PPT by DRCHO. Responding to DC’s query over poor performance of target achievement under PHC Lazu, MO I/C informed that Routine Immunization in the area could not be done in time due to election/bye-election and assured that efforts would be intensified to complete the 100% target within December 2019. DC stressed that no children should remain unimmunised against Measles-Rubella, Hepatitis, Diphtheria, Pertusis, Tetanus, Haemophillus Influenza type B, Polio and TB and negligence on the part of any medical/line department officer in connection with DTFI meeting  and duties assigned thereof would be reflected in their service book for records. DMO, Dr K. Mossang sought cooperation from all lines department and stakeholders for full coverage of children from 0-2 years so as to protect them from VPDs. She also informed that due to frequent breakdown of vehicles in most of the times, immunization activities under PHC Kapu and PHC Dadam often get affected. Earlier, DRCHO Dr. N. Angu highlighted the up to date target achievement during routine immunization performances in 2019-20 through Power Point Presentation and gave details about the upcoming IMI 2.0 activities, objectives and targets.
