ITANAGAR, Nov 27: Word of possible action by district administration hoping to clear the protest encampment by APPSCCE aspirants at the IG Park has met with discontent and evoked resentment among the protesters alleging that the notice to decamp has been issued to prevent them from voicing their rights.
Earlier district administration has issued a notification to protesters that they must leave the spot and set November 24 as the official deadline to vacate the place.
The aspirants that are voicing their dissent on a plethora of issues involving the APPSCCE examination have been protesting since November 17 demanding cancellation and re-conduct of the examination.
Meanwhile, interacting with presspersons, Magistrate, Capital Complex, Hengo Basar who was present along with SDPO, Officer in-charge, Itanagar PS accompanied by a contingent of IRBN and police personnel deputed to evict the spot clarified that they are only following orders as the time sought by the aspirants to hold demonstration at the Park has expired.
As the tennis court is the only designated place to hold protest of any kind here in the Capital, the magistrate said ‘there are many requests pending with the district administration which cannot be ignored to maintain public order.’
However, the eviction could not be carried out as planned following another extension  request made to ADC, Capital Complex  by aspirants  Monday evening.
When contacted one of the representatives of the protesting aspirants, Kesto Loriak said that the issuance of such order to evict us from the Tennis court premises indicates that the administration is indirectly trying to suppress our voice.
Admitting that the permission given by district administration to use the designated spot officially ended on November 24 last, he however lamented that their continuous request since last few days for an extension till December first week has not been accepted despite several pleas.
