PASIGHAT, Feb 18: The East Siang District Administration under the Rashtriya Vayoshri Yojana (RVY)and Assistance to Disabled Persons (ADIP) schemes will provide various physical aids free of cost to persons with disabilities and senior citizens (60 yrs and
above) under BPL category in the district .
The distribution programme will be held on March 15 next after conducting assessmentcamps at block level.
The schemes will be implemented in East Siang through Artificial Limb Manufacturing Corporation (ALIMCO), Guwahati, under the Ministry of
Social Justice & Empowerment, GoI, with effect from February 21.
Chairing a coordination meeting for its effective implementation recently, Deputy Commissioner Tamiyo Tatak asked for early assessment and submission of the requirement list which will facilitate successful distribution of aids to the needy.
All the line departments and PRIs, PMC , ASHAs , AW Workers are important stakeholders in the successful implementation of the schemes, he said urging them to create awareness at grassroots level so that all
targeted beneficiaries receive the physical aids.
East Siang is one of the six districts in Arunachal Pradesh to be selected for the implementation
of RVY & ADIP Schemes. Mentally retarded (below
15 years of age) and children suffering from Cerebral Palsy can also attend theassessment camps.
