AALO, Sep 13:An elaborate meeting was held under the chairmanship of West Siang Deputy Commissioner, Sode Potom to chalk out detailed preparations for organising a mega health mela at Aalo on September 25 next. The Health Melas to be held at each MP constituencies of East and West annually is a specific directive given by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt of India and funded under National Health Mission to ameliorate the health condition of the people with free medicines and screening of various ailments. As desired by Kiren Rijiju, MoS for Home the camps for MP West will be organised at Aalo and Daporijo respectively on September 25 and 26. Altogether 25 departments of Medical Science will converge to offer various natures of treatments to the patients.
Chairing the meet, the DC asked the medical department to gear up all initial activities pulling all available resources, requisitioning doctors from nearby medical hospitals and involving all stakeholders to conduct the camp in the most effective way. He stressed on maximum coverage of needy sick people in distress in the rural areas who really want free treatment. He has also flashed messages to all administrative officers in the outposts to ensure wide circulation to people to avail health facilities from the proposed Mela.
