TAWANG, May 3:A coordination meeting with the department of power and department of hydro power development, Tawang was held today to take stock of the power scenario in the district. The meeting chaired by the Deputy Commissioner Tawang, Sang Phuntsok was attended by the Executive Engineers along with their Assistant and Junior Engineers. During the review, the DC enquired regarding the reason for frequent tripping and voltage fluctuations and advised the power department to take preventive measures by sincerely carrying out maintenance works at regular intervals. On being apprised by the department regarding disruption in services owing to old and obsolete existing line, the DC asked that a concept paper on Augmentation & Modernisation of Transmission & Distribution Line for the district be prepared so as to place before the appropriate authority. Taking note of the sufficient power generation by the hydels to cater to the present requirement, DC asked the power department to work towards ensuring 24 hour electricity supply to consumers. 

DC also enquired regarding the status of the installation of consumer meters and opined that awareness be created to reduce consumption of energy especially in public places like hotels.

Further he also asked the concerned officers to ensure that incoming calls and complaints received in the enquiry office are properly attended to.
