BOMDILA, Jul 11: The West Kameng Deputy Commissioner cum District Magistrate Dr. Sonal Swaroop has prohibited movement of all types of vehicles on the Balipara-Charduar-Tawang (BCT) road from Pinjoli bridge point to Tenga in the district effecting from July 11 to August 15.
During this closure period, BRTF has been directed to clear the debris and take up the road restoration and construction works on both the BCT and the OKSRT roads by deploying maximum excavators and necessary manpower.
Also, all Administrative officers and Commanders 14 & 42 BRTF have been directed to ensure no vehicles remain stranded on the BCT road and cater to the essential provisions of food, water and shelter for the stranded passengers, if any.
The order comes in the wake of the recent cloud burst and flash floods due to incessant rainfall in the district resulting in massive road damages, blockades and landslides along the stretches of the BCT road.
Commuters have been advised to take the OKSRT road which runs through Balemu. DIPRO
