ITANAGAR, Jan 8: The District Administration, Capital Complex has opened all the community toilets constructed at various locations of Itanagar and Naharlagun township for public use, without paying any user fee. The 48 community toilets have been constructed with the sole aim of keeping the spirit of Swacch Bharat Abhiyaan high and for providing convenience to the public of the twin capital city as well as for people coming from outside the state.
The Deputy Commissioner, ICC Prince Dhawan has urged the public to use the amenity sensibly and use them with a sense of ownership as they are community assets, belonging to everyone.
The NGOs/SHGs entrusted with the responsibility of upkeep and maintenance have been directed to clean their allotted toilets twice a week.
Further, direction has been given to PHE & WS, Itanagar Division to ensure 24x7 water supply.
