ITANAGAR, Nov 29: A team led by SDO Itanagar Sangeeta Yirang along with community organizers of DY_NULM,IMC and the Police inspected four vending zones of the Capital Complex on Wednesday and today. During inspection, the team thoroughly checked Identity cards of vendors and issued challan to vendors who have not paid garbage collection fee. The team evicted illegal vendors running their business outside the vending zone especially near RK Mission hospital Itanagar and also cancelled the identity cards of those who were running their business outside the vending zones.
The Deputy Commissioner Capital Complex Prince Dhawan informed that the District Administration has constructed temporary vending zones for registered vendors at various locations of Capital Complex and urged the public not to encourage mushrooming of illegal vendors. He also appealed the illegal vendors to refrain from such activities otherwise action would be taken as per relevant sections of law.
Itanagar is the first city in North East to implement the Street vending policy.
