Tezu, Jul 22: As per the technical assessment by the National Highway Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) on the poor status of Tidding Suspension Bridge, Deputy Commissioner Anjaw district Dagbam Riba has promulgated 133 CrPC particularly for the bridge site to restrict movement of heavy vehicles of above 9 tonne.
A stern notice has also been issued directing the local populace to refrain from harassing the NHIDCL workers engaged at the bridge site. Earlier the 400-meter bridge and the Arrowa-Hayuliang road was maintained by 116 RCC BRO Hayuliang. However in April 2018, BRO handed over the maintenance task to NHIDCL. Meanwhile, at the time of handover, the bridge was in dilapidated condition and renovation and maintenance work is underway.
As per the order, besides the above load restriction, only one vehicle will be allowed to cross at a time and violation of it shall be dealt as per the provisions of law.
