PASIGHAT, Jan 2: To ensure safety and security of people and also for smooth flow of traffic, the East Siang District Administration today declared Raneghat/Pasighat Bridge a ‘No Selfie, No Parking, No sightseeing’ zone.
The ban has been issued witnessing negligence of people who carelessly park their vehicles in the middle of the bridge for selfies, photos/videos etc. As per district administration, such carelessness is causing traffic nuisances and accidents. The same bridge point is also used by drug users, alcoholics etc.
Dy. Commissioner, Tamiyo Tatak has instructed police department led by Supt. of Police and judicial officers to implement the order in letter and spirit. 
Meanwhile, DA has also instructed the Executive Engineer, Highway to complete the filling up of potholes along the bridge which poses potential threat of causing accidents to vehicles etc.
Raneghat/Pasighat Bridge over the Siang River is the lifeline of Eastern Arunachal Pradesh including the northern part of Assam and the important National Highway-52 passes through this bridge.
