Khonsa, Dec 26: A District Level Task Force Review Meeting on IMI 2.0 (Round-2), Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization and NID was held today here at the Kamlesh Joshi Conference Hall under the chairmanship of DC Tirap P.N. Thungon.
All MO I/Cs from CHC, Deomali, PHC-Borduria, Dadam, Lazu, Natun Kheti, Kapu, Soha & Paniduria, representatives from ICDS and Education department attended the meeting. DC while urging the Medical Officers/ ICDS department/Education department including Anganwadi Workers, ASHAs and teachers to work dedicatedly and play a pivotal role in spreading public awareness to every household to ensure that no children in age group of 0-5 years is left out of vaccination, further suggested them to motivate the parents to participate in the process. He added that household surveys must be done in all villages/colonies with video/photo footage to ensure full coverage. DC took exception to the poor performance in some parts under PHC Lazu and in Bank Colony and Patkai Colony of Khonsa township and suggested the representative of IPR department Gawang Sumpa to make wide publicity through multimedia and social media regarding the NID 2020 to be held on January 19 next. The IPR department representative also shared his ideas/experiences pertaining to making wide publicity in connection with ensuing IPPI vaccination through audio recordings in local dialect/ Hindi language through various WhatsApp and other social media group pages in addition to loudspeaker announcements.
DMO Dr. K. Mossang urged all to ensure that all children from 0-5 years are fully immunized with vaccine on the NID and sought cooperation from all line departments and stakeholders for successful coverage.
