Itanagar, May 7: Deputy Commissioner Capital Complex Himanshu Gupta today in a meeting directed the Executive Magistrates, District Land Revenue Settlement Officers and the SKs to keep strict vigil on illegal activities of encroachment and earth cutting.
Highlighting that illegal earth cutting increases the likelihood of landslide occurrences which may further endanger human lives and properties, the DC stressed on the necessity of monitoring and controlling such illegal activities. He has also directed the Executive Magistrates to deploy SKs/ Mandals/ PIs for monitoring encroachment and earth cutting activities in their respective sectors and seek their daily reports.
Although the DC’s order has banned earth cutting w.e.f May 1 to October 31, 2019, in case of any urgent earth cutting by government agencies, permission for the same has to be taken beforehand from the district administration, informed DC.
He has further appealed the denizens of Capital Complex to cooperate with the district administration and abide by the rules and regulations. Toll free number 1077 can also be accessed by any citizen for any assistance or complaint regarding such cases of illegal encroachment or earth cutting. DIPRO
