ITANAGAR, May 16: With the objective of ensuring peace and tranquillity in the Capital Complex on vote counting day of May 23, Deputy Commissioner Capital Complex Himanshu Gupta convened a meeting with the contesting candidates and their election agents of 13th Itanagar Assembly Constituency in presence of SP Capital Complex Tumme Amo, EAC Itanagar Hengo Basar and EAC (Election) Choiki Dondup.
DC reminding that while voting for the simultaneous election on April 11 went peacefully, peace must also prevail on the counting day and there should not be any break down of law and order after declaration of result. He sought the cooperation from the candidates as well as the denizens of Capital Complex to ensure total peace.
The candidates and their agents also assured to extend their full support and cooperation to the administration and refrain from indulging in activities which may disturb the peaceful atmosphere of the Capital Complex. They reiterated that they have asked all their supporters to maintain peace and harmony on the counting day.
Contesting candidates Techi Kaso of JD(U), Yumlam Achung of INC and election agents of BJP, JD(S) and NPP attended the meeting. DIPRO
