KHONSA, Mar 22:After being alerted of water theft and unauthorized connections which caused leakages in pipelines at various places under the town, Deputy Commissioner PN Thungon on Wednesday has instructed officials of PHE & WS department to locate such unauthorized activities and asked them to ensure that water supply reaches every household.

In an emergency meeting convened today, the DC seriously viewed the complaints that have been received from the residents regarding leakages of water from pipes and non availability of water in residences due to unauthorized extraction of water.

After threadbare discussion with PHE & WS Engineers, the DC urged all residents to get water connection officially on or before March 27 if they haven’t already.

“Non-compliance of the order may lead to forceful disconnection of water pipes from their house by team of PHE & WS, Police personnel and Town Magistrate,” the DC cautioned.

Concerned over water losses caused through leakages, the DC also requested the citizens to adhere to government norms and get proper water connection only through PHE & WS officially.
