ITANAGAR, Apr 26:Cyclonic wind that hit the Capital city has caused extensive damage as per reports of District Administration, Itanagar Capital Complex. According to DDMO Capital Complex Moromi Dodum Sonam 348 dwelling units were partially damaged and 106 dwelling units fully damaged. Four electrical poles were damaged that disrupted the power supply in the Capital. Several plantations were damaged too. However, power supply has been restored.

 

The DDMO further informed that relief items would be distributed once the formal official modalities are completed.

 

The Deputy Commissioner Itanagar Capital Complex Prince Dhawan has urged the denizens to remain calm and prepared for any kind of eventuality.  He reiterated his request to people residing in low lying areas near river banks and landslide prone areas to evacuate immediately to safer places as with the onset of monsoon these areas can be unsafe for life and property. Dhawan also requested the people to stay indoors during thunderstorm or cyclone.
