TEZU, Jan 5: With the aim of instilling spirit of adventure, boosting self-confidence and inspiring the local youth to join the Indian Army, a cycle expedition was flagged off here this morning from the Army camp.
The expedition, organized by 3rd BN (Rifles) of Kumaon Regiment under the aegis of ‘DAO Division & 3 Corps’ was flagged off by Robi Kapoor Commandant, 82 Mountain Brigade Tezu. It will be a 10-day affair consisting of a 10 member team covering Salangam – Hayuliang – Changwanti – Walong to Kibitho, the tough and challenging hilly, serpentine terrain of 226 km. Simultaneously, throughout the cycling tour the team will actively interact with local boys and girls to educate and motivate them to join the Indian Army by sharing essential details and distributing pamphlets etc.
