Roing, Jun 17: A curfew is on in the Lower Dibang Valley district till the midnight of June 18, as a precautionary measure to break the chain of infection after a staff of DMO’s office, Roing tested positive for COVID 19 at Jorhat, Assam.
Doctors and medical staff were put under home quarantine and 47 samples for RT PCR test were collected on June 16. The tests were conducted at Regional Medical Research Centre-ICMR, Dibrugarh on priority basis and all results came negative for COVID-19.
The negative results have come as a relief but this is a wake up call for all of us to be extra careful, stated Deputy Commissioner Mitali Namchoom. She added that the District Administration and Health department is taking all necessary precautions to contain the spread of the disease in the district and
requested the public to follow all the health and hygiene protocols, wash hands with soap regularly, wear mask in public and maintain social distancing norms. DIPRO.
