PASIGHAT, May 21:Deputy Chief Minister, Chowna Mein said that there should not be hiccups in the implementation of Central Sponsored Schemes in the State. He said this while visiting the Industrial Growth Centre at Niglok-Ngorlung under Ruskin Sub- Division in East Siang District today.

He said that the Central Sponsored Schemes should be implemented rapidly without any hiccup. There is also instruction from the Central Government to the Chief Minister of every State to physically monitor the progress and implementation of the CSS in the State and the Deputy Commissioner must visit villages every first week of the month. He said that his visit to the IGC is one such monitoring as per the directives of the Chief Minister.

While lauding the people of the area for donating such large areas for establishment of an Industrial Growth Centre, which is a 100% Central Govt Sponsored scheme, he appealed to extend all possible support from the state government citing ‘we must carry forward the legacy of development as envisioned by the pioneers who had donated the land for such a good cause.’

 He also urged the district administration and the line departments such as PWD, Power, PHED & Water Supply, etc to extend all possible support and facilitate immediate functioning of the IGC adding that it will accelerate the economic growth of the area besides providing employment opportunities to the local people.

He also observed that the IGC is located in a very suitable place as the railway line will also pass from the nearby area. He also said to look into the electricity, water supply and incomplete boundary wall of the IGC and asked the Project Manager, IGC to submit the detail requirements.

He also requested the allotees to establish their Industrial Units as soon as possible and also assured to ask the BSNL to install a Mobile Tower in the vicinity to address the poor mobile connectivity in the area.

Regarding the establishment of a Sainik School adjacent to the area and other issues confronting the IGC, DCM said to convene a meeting of the Ministers and Officers of Industry, Education, PWD, Power, PHED & WS including Local MLA and DC Pasighat to discuss and sort out the problem once and for all.

M Jamoh, DDI cum Project Manager, IGC Niglok-Ngorlung, informed that the Department of Industry has acquired 582 acres of land in  the year 1997 and some infrastructure like staff quarter, industrial sheds, medical centres, etc have come up and land were also allotted to 12 prospective entrepreneurs to establish Industrial Units few of whom have started their works.

DCM was accompanied by Lok Sabha MP, Ninong Ering, Parliamentary Secretary & local MLA, Tatung Jamoh, Ex-Minister, Dr Tangor Tapak, CE Power and PHE & WS (Eastern Zone), DC & SP Pasighat and Public Leaders of the area among others.
