ITANAGAR, Nov 26: Chief Secretary Satya Gopal met with DK Kamra, Regional Executive Director (RED), Airports Authority of India on the matters relating to CSR schemes, and to review the project status of airports in Tezu and Hollongi at the Civil Secretariat here today.
Gopal took stock of the status of proposed four lane road to Tezu airport, shifting of utilities etc and requisite forest and environment clearance issues in the meeting.
While reviewing Corporate Social Responsibility contributions made by AAI to the State, the CS directed that all such CSR activities should be undertaken in full knowledge of the Government, to ensure transparency and accountability, to stop or tap misuse of CSR schemes if there may be any.
Lohit district Deputy Commissioner Karma Leki presented a power point presentation briefing the house on the status of Tezu Airport. Video clips of safe landing of DONIER and ATR at Tezu Airport was also shown in the presentation.
On the recent issue of conversion of Tezu Airport from VFR to IFR, the Deputy Commissioner informed that the matter has been referred to District Forest Officer, Tezu for NOC/approval to clear the vegetative obstacles for conversion as requested by the AAI.
