ITANAGAR. Apr 26: As part of the ongoing drive to boost office attendance in the State and to identify habitual late comers, the Chief Secretary, made a surprise visit to the office of the commissioner (Tax, Excise and Narcotics), Itanagar this morning. Gopal cross-checked the daily attendance register and found that quite a few officers and officials were absent and had not reached office on time. The Chief Secretary expressed deep anguish over the culture of unauthorised absenteeism, false attendance and habitual late coming. He directed the Commissioner (Tax, Excise and Narcotics) to issue Show Cause Notices to delinquent Officers and Officials and take disciplinary action as per rules.
