ITANAGAR, Apr 2: A meeting to review the compliance of Solid Waste Management Rules, 2016 in the state was held today under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary.
The meeting was attended by the PCCF & Principal Secretary, Department of Environment & Forests, the PCCF (Environment & Climate Change), Department of Environment & Forests, members of Arunachal Pradesh State Pollution Control Board, Director (Town Planning) and senior officers from the department of health.
Proper implementation of the aforesaid rules was stressed at the meeting. In addition, preparation of state policy and action plans with regard to the proper implementation of solid waste management, plastic waste management, bio-medical waste management, construction, and demolition waste management were also discussed.
Chief Secretary further issued clear instructions to officers for effective implementation of the above waste management rules along with establishing timelines for compliance of different orders from the National Green Tribunal pertaining to these rules.
