Tawang, May 18: Tawang MLA Tsering Tashi on Monday conducted a Covid-19 review meeting with the representatives of army & paramilitary forces, BRO and NGOs of the district here at the conference hall of DC office.
The meeting was attended by DC Sang Phuntsok, Commander Tawang Brigade and officers from SSB, ITBP, BRO, representatives of various NGOs and public leaders. Tashi while appreciating the efforts of all in combating the pandemic stressed on strict monitoring of the returnees kept in quarantine facilities and also those sent to home quarantine. He reminded the important role to be played by the GBs, ASHAs and Aanganwadi workers for strictly monitoring those in home quarantine and said that lockdown 4.0 guidelines issued by the MHA are to be followed strictly and issue of passes for emergency movements by the Incident Commanders would continue.
The MLA assured that if there are problems faced by the economically disadvantaged people in following the home quarantine guidelines, NGOs can intervene and if needed, he would personally extend help. While stating that the district’s quarantine facilities are amongst the best, he conveyed his gratitude to the DA for making such quality arrangements and thanked the hoteliers for providing accommodation at cheap rates. Army authorities were thanked by the MLA for jointly working with the civil administration in medical emergencies.
DC informed about lockdown 4.0 guidelines and stressed on their strict compliance and appealed everyone to download the Aarogya Setu app. Commander Tawang Brigade, Brigadier VK Jagtap while assuring full cooperation with the DA said that Indian Army  is taking all precautions to make sure that not a single soldier is infected, adding that they are screened at various locations before entry into Tawang and even the fresh vegetables are thoroughly sanitized with salt water before distribution to the units.
All the attendees also shared their ideas for combating the pandemic in the district. DIPRO
