Itanagar, Jun 19: With the intention of increasing the Covid-19 awareness levels under the aegis of the Arunachal Rising Campaign, face masks, unsterilized gloves, antiseptic soap and surgical caps for the frontline warriors were handed over to Incident Commander EAC Balijan Mudo Tamo at the Hollongi check gate by DIPRO Yupia in presence of District Medical Officer Papum Pare Dr Subu Tasso Kampu on Friday.
Incident Commander said that it has been a herculean task in manning the check gate 24x7 and all the frontline warriors are working relentlessly to check every movement of goods and passengers. He also informed that Techi Kako, a native of Tengabari village Balijan and President Hollongi Market Nabam Tangu have been working selflessly with the frontline workers since day one by extending their helping hands to the local administration in manning the check gate smoothly .
Kako who is a teacher at the Government Upper Primary School Patila said that he is giving the service voluntarily from 5 am daily and strict vigil has prevented many returnees who were trying to enter through Hollongi and were subsequently sent back to enter through the Banderdewa gate.
During this pandemic, Hollongi check gate has been one of the busiest and the only check post through which hundreds of vehicles carrying essential and non-essentials goods for the Capital Region are allowed to enter. DIPRO
