NAHARLAGUN, May 28: To take Covid-19 awareness in the state to greater levels, Health Minister Alo Libang on Thursday launched an audio-visual campaign here at the State Task Force Centre of the Directorate of Health Services.
Addressing the gathering, Libang stressed on the Information, Education and Communication (IEC) campaign to create awareness on coronavirus. "Audio-visual campaign is one of the best way to reach out to more people in a short time, especially among the younger generation," Libang said. "As there is no specific vaccine or medicine as of now for the virus, we have to live with the pandemic maintaining all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to shield ourselves from getting infected," Libang asserted and also appreciated the team for initiating the campaign. Further, the Health Minister urged the frontline health workers to converge all their efforts to defeat the pandemic. "As Team Arunachal, state government will extend all-possible support to the frontline warriors," he assured.
Elaborating on the IEC campaign, Deputy Director-IEC Tashor Pali informed that besides other campaigns through advertisements and billboards, the department has decided to involve the youths. Observing the inclination of the younger generation towards ‘Rap songs’, we have made the audio-visual campaign on the same mode, so that it could catch their attention and thereby create more awareness about the pandemic," Deputy Director stated.
He also added that the performing artists are the local youths and members of the Health Department have also contributed in formation of the lyric and the campaign will be released in all social media platforms.
Director-DHS Dr. M Lego, Chairman State Health Task Force Dr. E Rumi, State Epidemiologist Dr. L Jampa and others attended the event.
