PASIGHAT, May 2: To ramp up East Siang’s healthcare facilities to face the Covid-19 pandemic, the North Eastern Institute of Folk Medicines (NEIFM), AYUSH, Pasighat has been converted to the state’s second “Covid-19 Hospital” upgrading with special thirty seven beds, medical trolleys, masks, sanitizers and most importantly four ICU beds and two ventilators.
The ICU was inaugurated by the Pasighat East MLA Kaling Moyong in presence of DC Dr. Kinny Singh, JDHS Dr. D. Raina, DMO Dr. Kaling Dai and MS Dr. YR Darang on Saturday evening here at the hospital.
Later, MLA Moyong accompanied by the DC, JDHS, DMO and MS visited the Bakin Pertin General Hospital and inaugurated newly set up ICU, constructed by the PWD, Pasighat Division.
Expressing happiness over the developments, MLA Moyong extended his thanks and gratitude to Chief Minister Pema Khandu, Health Minister Alo Libang and Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar for opening the ICUs with all sophisticated equipment for Covid-19 Hospital and BPGH Pasighat. He also appreciated the hard work of the administration and health department for their initiatives and timely accomplishment adding that they have worked in tandem to add new health assets, something that is indispensable to minimize the impact of a potential catastrophe.
Long felt demand of the entire Siang belt and neighbouring Assam has been fulfilled today, he stated.
DC Dr. Kinny Singh informed that the Bakin Pertin General Hospital, Pasighat has opened a state-of-art Intensive Care Unit (ICU) to meet healthcare facilities in the centurion city. The hospital has added several modern health care facilities to serve the patients. The ICU is equipped with artificial respirator, ventilator, cardiac monitor and other equipment to treat serious patients. DIPRO
