Aalo, Apr 28: West Siang Deputy Commissioner and DMO have warned those spreading rumours on social media to create panic among people will not be tolerated and booked under appropriate stringent sections of relevant Act.
DMO informed that out of 11 samples tested so far at ICMR, Dibrugarh, all are negative and the fake news of a Covid-19 positive doing the rounds through a local WhatsApp group is creating a wave of apprehension and panic among people and such activities are liable for punishment under the appropriate sections of law.
Meanwhile, Arunachal Pradesh Doctors’ Association, West Unit in collaboration with various NGOs has almost completed the distribution of masks barring some villages under Kamba Circle under the ‘Mask for All’ campaign and awareness on social distancing in the district.
Self-lockdown by civil society organisations continues and outsiders other than colony/sectors dwellers are not allowed to enter and even the colony dwellers have to maintain entry/exit register and use sanitizers placed on the gates. More than 2200 migrant labourers including eight Kashmiri salesmen have been provided with ration from the NDRF fund out of a targeted 2872. Kombo Tarsu Dolu women provided local green vegetables to the medical and police personnel as an encouragement to fight against the pandemic and ADTH Teresa Padu, EO ICDS Jumnyak Padu & MO Dr. Jumge Padu imparted orientation training to the villagers on face mask making with needle, thread and fabric without using sewing machine.
