ITANAGAR, May 22: District and Session Court Yupia extended the bail petition filed by the most wanted Multi-Crore loan fraudster Pramod Kumar Jain alias Pramod Modi and P K Chabra who have been arrested by the Guwahati Anti Corruption team of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) from Lucknow on April 5 last.
The accused identified as Pramod Kumar Jain alias Pramod Modi and PK Chabra was on the run since last 10 years and a wanted criminal as he was engaged in fraud cases worth crores starting from Arunachal Pradesh to various other states in India and also in South Africa, China and Nepal.
Pramod was running 32 fraud companies including in Arunachal Pradesh and had taken several loans from different banks in the country with forged documents.
One Pawan Kumar Mishra, a victim of Pramod Kumar Jain alias Pramod Modi informed that ‘this fraudster has misused trading license of several Arunachalese and took a loan worth Rs 3 crore from various banks of Itanagar. He also alleged that using his forged signature and documents accused took a loan of Rs 92 lakh in 2009 making his father a granter from a Nationalized Bank in Itanagar.
Due to the bank’s pressure to return the loan amount which neither me or nor my father has taken; my father died of heart stroke, lamented Paswan. There is a FIR against the Pramod in Itanagar Police station also, he added
Accused PK Jain kept on changing his name and place, but recently he has been traced in Lucknow and with the help of Anti Corruption team of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) brought to Itanagar and he is lodged in District Jail Jully.
Today CBI counsel objected the bail petition filed by the accused PK Jain and Court has extended the date on hearing of bail to June 20 and for finale argument on the case has been fixed on 10 July next.
