ITANAGAR, Oct 9: The Confederation of Service Association of Arunachal Pradesh (CoSAAP) has announced to go ahead with its proposed phase-wise democratic non-cooperation movement in the form of Pen and tools down strike following a meeting with Chief Secretary on Monday not yielding any tangible results on their demands.
The Chief Secretary had convened a meeting with Central Executive Committee (CEC) CoSAAP in presence of few senior bureaucrats at his conference hall to discuss employees grievances with special reference to allowances of 7th CPC.
In the meeting, the CS apprised the team that a special Cabinet meeting was conducted to address their grievances and that the State Cabinet has decided to consider their demands for grant of Tough Location Allowance (TLA) and House Rent Allowance (HRA).
Expressing gratitude to the State Cabinet for convening such special meeting, however, the employees expressed dissatisfaction over fulfilment of only two of their demands amongst the many.
The employees apprised the CS that they are demanding the 7th CPC allowances in Toto and other service benefits of the employees on the strength of provisions contained in the Statehood Act, 1986 etc.
Further, it was also alleged that during the course of discussion few of the senior officers present used derogatory languages against the government employees which the CoSAAP termed uncalled for and against the sanctity of protocol.
“The decision of the State Cabinet as informed by the Chief Secretary was later conveyed and discussed in an Extended & Consultative meeting of State Govt. employees today which was unanimously disagreed by the house,” it added.
