ZIRO, Mar 16: In the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic, the Lower Subansiri administration today reviewed its preparedness and also adopted many decisions including, identification of foreign tourists and temporary closure of weekly markets which witnesses vendor participation from neighbouring states.
The meeting was chaired here today by DC In-charge Nending Chatung . Giving the opening remarks DMO Dr. Tage Kano, termed March as a period of extensive social engagements and gatherings due to the Myoko festival and stressed the need for an intensive exercise for creating awareness to curb the disease. He also emphasized on home quarantine and personal hygiene as the basic and vital measures to curb the spread of the disease.
The Tourist Lodge , Old Ziro has been marked as Quarantine center and District Tuberculosis Centre, Ziro as an isolation ward.
Deputy Director, ICDS, was directed to create intensive awareness during the Poshan Pakhwada observation in the district. The Town Magistrate was asked to regulate hoarding and black marketing of hand sanitizers and masks in consultation with Chamber of Commerce and Market associations.
The District Administration shall carry out Intensive ILP drive and also identify foreign nationals visiting Ziro as tourists and advise the tour operators to send them back.
The members also felt the need to install scanners at vital entry points to the district, especially at Potin. DMO Dr. Tage Kano however informed that scanners are yet to be made available by the state. DIPRO
