Khonsa, Mar 9: As a part of Covid-19 preparedness in Tirap, a district level awareness meeting was held here today which was conducted under the aegis of District Administration and District Health Departmentand attended by Chiefs, GBs, Interim PRIs, NGOs, SHGs, religious leaders, HoDs and common people from different parts of the district.
ADC Khonsa Kretkam Tikhak informed that the meeting’s aim was to make common people aware about Coronavirus, keeping in view the fact that people around the world are dying due to this new lethal virus and asked all present to spread the knowledge acquired during the training to family members, neighbours, relatives and friends.
DMO Dr. K. Mossang specifically advised all to avoid close contact and keep at least two-metre distance from persons having fever/cough and urged to visit General Hospital, Khonsa or nearby Health Centres and consult doctors in cases of symptomatic cough/ fever.
Resource Person & District Surveillance Officer (IDSP) Dr. Palash Rakshit highlighted at length about the dos and don’ts through Power Point Presentation and appealed the gathering not to panic unnecessarily or buy antibiotics directly from pharmacies. DIPRO
