ITANAGAR, Apr 19: Amidst report of breach of protocol during lockdown by few influential people, today a video has surfaced on social media where the Coordinator of the Quarantine Center, Itanagar Dr. Gomi Basar has claimed that higher authority has ordered the release of three persons with travel history to Delhi and has covered four Red Zone states such as UP, Delhi, Assam and West Bengal.
If reports are to be believed the three-- a PSO and two drivers entered through the Hollongi Check gate after dropping SP Lower Subanisiri at Delhi on some urgent medical ground.
Responding to the event, Dr Basar rushed to the Hollongi gate and adviced the trio to go into quarantine at Itanagar instead of going back directly to Ziro to avoid any eventuality. However, the doctor in the video claimed that the trio have order copy for the travel and so he is getting instruction from higher authority to release them to undergo quarantine at Ziro.
When contacted, SP Capital Tumme Amo clarified that he has no knowledge about the issue.
'The three persons were subjected to maintain the screening procedure at the Hollongi Checkgate by the medical staff deployed there on Sunday around 2:30 am. The medical staff tried to contact their higher-ups to take instructions about the further course of action. But they couldn’t connect with them and also there was no magistrate present at the gate for advice,So, they (medical staff) allowed the vehicle to pass through and instructed the driver not to proceed to Ziro before prior approval,’ informed the SP.
He further added, accordingly PSO and others stayed at Chimpu Mess on home quarantine waiting for the medical team. At around 9 am a call was received by the PSO from the Medical team and PSO told his location and team arrived at Chimpu mess shortly.
Further on request of Dr. Gomi Basar, I detailed SDPO Itanagar and party for his assistance. Dr Basar did not inform me of any problems or any pressures from higher-ups before publishing this video; there was no pressure to us from any higher-ups as per my knowledge, clarified the SP.
There seems to have been some confusion and he (Dr Basar) left without taking the trio to the quarantine facility. However, the DMO sent another party with SDPO and the three men were taken to quarantine facility at Naharlagun.
