AALO, Apr 19:

The District Cooperative Union Aalo in collaboration with State Cooperative Union Naharlagun and Institute of Cooperative Management Guwahati conducted members education programme under the supervision of DRCS Kenbi Riba at Panchayat Office Building on Wednesday. Cooperative Unions from West Siang, Siang and Lower Siang attended the day long deliberations.


Riba dwelt at length on significance and role of cooperative movements in various parts of the nation and state and exhorted the unions to intensify their works as means to self sustenance and employment avenues.

 

Dr. Rangamlian from ICM Guwahati gave detail appraisal on role of cooperative societies and its socio-economical impacts. The State Cooperative Union Naharlagun also gave overview on cooperative concepts, its genesis and history.


Resource Persons from various departments also threw valuable inputs as to how cooperative societies can take up activities linked to their departments to earn livelihood.
