ITANAGAR, Dec 2: The All Arunachal Contractor’s Welfare Association (AACWA) suggested the state government to sanction bypass road projects to address the increasing traffic congestion in the twin capital.
Since Itanagar-Naharlagun is the state capital and most tourists and VVIPs frequent it, the association suggested that a separate fund should be kept for its beautification and renovation of traffic facilities.
It also requested that the concerned authority should properly demarcate commercial vehicle stands as practiced in other parts of the country.
AACWA further requested the state government to pass a bill to regulate reckless driving and parking in market areas in the upcoming assembly session, stating that this is the main cause of traffic congestion in the twin capital.
