ITANAGAR, Feb 25:

All Arunachal Contractors Welfare Association (AACWA) has appealed to the state government to maintain transparency and initiate measures to check irregularities in tendering process of various central and state sponsored schemes in the state.Taking reference of late Kalikho Pul’s “Mere Vichar” which alleged mass corruption in tender awarding system prevailing in the state, it called for a comprehensive overhaul in the construction sector by maintaining accountability in the role of tender awarders to reduced corruption and to enhance performance.

Meanwhile AACWA also expressed surprise over the selection of schemes in State Annual Development Agenda (SADA) meeting, wherein most of the schemes were approved against private or individual places ignoring public utility places like schools, hospitals, roads, government establishment etc.

“The government should utilize funds giving utmost priority to development of public and funds should be implemented on common development areas first,” added AACWA appealing the government to focus more in revamping the education & health sector, road connectivity and employment generation in coming budget session.
