ITANAGAR, Jan 28: The All Arunachal Contractors Welfare Association (AACWA) on Tuesday said that due to restrictions imposed by the state government on departments in issuing LOCs many contractors who have completed and executing ongoing projects are facing difficulties in completing developmental works due to non-release of funds from the departments.
It also alleged that several files were returned from finance department in the name of geo-tagging indicating delaying tactics.
The AACWA also said that the decision to allocate funds under the Cabinet Committee on Infrastructure (CCI) while discontinuing of SADA, SIDF, budget estimates and RE has become more individualized in nature.
“Every common man equally has the right to know about development schemes and its information should not be kept only to the Chief Minister and his select cabinet ministers. Disseminating information about the schemes through websites prior to the introduction of CCI has helped in curbing the misuse of development funds to some extent,” it emphasized.
It also reiterated its demands for enhancing the tender limit of Class-III from existing Rs.3.00 crore to Rs.5.00 Crore, Class-IV-Rs.1.00 Crore to Rs. 3.00 Crore and Class-V Rs.50.00 lakh to Rs. 1.50 lakh.
AACWA further requested the state government to direct all banks of the twin capital to ensure their ATMs always have sufficient cash and replenish it timely for convenience of customers.
