ITANAGAR, Jun 27: The All Arunachal Contractors’ Welfare Association (AACWA) has welcomed state government’s decision of releasing their pending bills and the efforts taken for timely disbursement of salaries of government employees and has appreciated the initiative of Deputy Chief Minister-cum-Finance Minister Chowna Mein and the Finance & Planning department in this regard.
In a press release issued on Saturday, AACWA has urged the concerned department to release payments to the contractors solely on the basis of their work progress and refrain from the practice of releasing payments to those only who have good rapport with the Ministers and MLAs.
The association has also urged the DCM cum-Finance Minister to immediately formulate a proper policy framework to safeguard the interest of local contractors and suppliers under the GeM portal. AACWA PR
