BJP Arunachal condemns Opposition for blocking Women’s Reservation Bill
NAHARLAGUN, May 19: The All Arunachal Contractors’ Welfare Association (AACWA) has expressed concern over the quality of works in construction of the National Highway from Chandanagar to Papunalah under Package-1.
Through its press release issued on Tuesday, AACWA has pointed out that maximum number of turning points are too curved which in future may turn out to be potential accident points. Besides urging the PWD Highway department to intervene in monitoring the quality of works, the Association has also appealed the contractors to expedite their assigned works since vehicular movement is currently much less due to the ongoing lockdown. It has further urged the state government to encourage the state’s entrepreneurs to undertake government projects since central government has banned the participation of international firms in projects having specific values due to the pandemic.
Giving its views on the allegations that a few IAS officers with vested interests are encouraging Government e-marketing(GeM) for procurement and supply works in state government marked with hassle-free payments while local contractors working in government projects still awaiting their backlog dues, AACWA has termed it as “not tolerable.” The Association has further stated that democratic protests will be taken up by them if this unfair treatment is continued.
