ITANAGAR, Jun 29:  The Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) has demanded an immediate rollback of the unprecedented hike in prices of petrol and diesel.
Addressing a press conference on Monday, General Secretary APCC Mina Toko slammed the BJP-led central government for hiking the fuel prices at a time when the rate of crude oil in the international market is at its lowest at US dollar 43.41. “When Congress was in power, the price of international crude oil was US Dollar 108 per barrel which has now fallen by 60 % in June 2020. Despite that, BJP is keen on increasing the prices,” Mina remarked, adding that when the citizens of the country are already in great economic distress due to the pandemic, the Modi-led BJP government is profiting from the misery of the common people by repeatedly increasing the excise duties on petrol and diesel. “This is nothing short of an extortion,” APCC General Secretary alleged. “We have submitted a memorandum to the President of India through the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh demanding an immediate rollback of this unprecedented hike,” Mina informed.
Meanwhile, she also questioned the Prime Minister for being silent on the Galwan Valley incident and urged the central government to come clear about the  Ladakh situation. “Inches by inches, Indian territories are getting occupied by the Chinese PLA at Ladakh and our PM is still silent,” the APCC GS said.
“While on one hand the BJP Yuva Morcha is calling for boycotting Chinese products, the Modi-led BJP government is taking loans and donations from Chinese companies,” she said, also questioning the opacity regarding the collections of the PM Cares Fund.
