ITANAGAR, Apr 1: Consumer rights organization- Arunachal Pradesh (CRO-AP) state unit organized a general meeting on consumer rights, working for consumer awareness and consumer education & consumer protection at Naharlagun on Sunday. CRO is a voluntary consumer organization working Pan India established in April 2010.
Addressing the gathering CRO state unit, Achu Bagang said a state like Arunachal Pradesh needs consumer awareness on various aspects and levels. Every person from a school going child, officers to the chief minister of the state is a consumer and must make the use of Consumer Rights Act- 1986, he said.
According to the bill it enforces consumer rights, and provides a mechanism for redressal of complaints regarding defect in goods and deficiency in services. Besides with the set up of Department of Consumer Affairs people have by no means executed their right, he said.
Speaking on the occasion state CRO Convener Sunny Bangsia disclosed that there is widespread adulteration and malpractices going on in the state at every shop and retailer.
We have to check it and complain it to the higher concerned authority, he added.
