Khonsa, Dec 4: In a formal function held today here at DC’s chamber, Deputy Commissioner of Tirap district P.N. Thungon gave away educational assistance to Sabita Chetry sponsored by Arunachal Pradesh Building & Other Construction Workers’ Welfare Board (APB&OCWWB).
A cheque amounting to Rs. 30,000 was handed over to Krishna Chetry, father of Sabita Chetry for further studies of his daughter. While awarding the cheque, DC also urged the APB&OCWWB members to motivate the unrecognized workers in the age group of 18-60 years in an aggressive way for larger enrolments under the highly beneficial schemes of PM-SYM and NPS. It is worth mentioning that “National Pension Week” was launched by DC on November 30 last and the enrolment drive is currently on in Khonsa PWD Circuit House led by RO(LWB) Tonlong Wangpan which will continue till December 6.
The programme was also attended by Women’s Wing Secretary, AAPWU Chalow Kamhua, APB&OCWWB members and representative from IPR Gawang Sumpa. DIPRO
