Itanagar, Apr 1: In a major addition to the state’s Covid-19 combat resources, a consignment carrying medical items landed on the Naharlagun helipad Wednesday afternoon.
Weighing around 5.5 tons, it included items like Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), masks, sanitizers etc. After taking off from the Hindon Air Force Station in Uttar Pradesh at 10.25 am, the consignment arrived at the Mohanbari airport at 2 pm and then ferried by chopper to Naharlagun. The lots meant for DC Tezu, DC Namsai and SP Roing were segregated and sent to their respective destinations. A few items had to be retained at Mohanbari as the helicopter’s load capacity didn’t permitted to carry all packets in one go and these will be brought to Naharlagun by road on Thursday.
Arrival of these medical equipment will be a major relief to the state currently facing an acute shortage of masks and sanitizers. DIPRO
