ITANAGAR, Jan 19: The Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) on Saturday questioned the state government’s lackadaisical attitude towards their repeated demands for early execution of the Trans Arunachal Highway in Lower Subansiri district.
Addressing presspersons here today, APCC, president Takam Sanjoy claimed that following re-verification on few portions of the national highway, names of top-level officers, political leaders have been unearthed for illegally collecting huge compensation in crore for non-existing infrastructures and properties while many genuine landowners were not given even a penny as compensation for their lands.
Appreciating Chief Engineer cum Director Urban Development, Taba Tedir who voluntarily returned compensation amount of Rs 3.25 crore for his property at Billo village, Sanjay appealed all those who have illegally received compensation amount without any land or property to refund the amount immediately or face legal consequences.
Sanjoy claimed the party has access to the list of beneficiaries of compensation of TAH in Lower Subansiri submitted by the re-verification committee to the government.
Appealing the state government to solve the TAH imbroglio immediately, Sanjoy suggested that when all the money has been returned to Deputy Commissioner of Lower Subansiri District, then it should be distributed wisely to genuine landowners following the first Detail Project Report (DPR) submitted to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways earlier.
The APCC chief further called for immediate starting of the tender process and completion of re-assessment of remaining stretch of road from Pai gate to Bopi, in Lower Subansiri district.
