ITANAGAR, Jul 13:Reacting to the news of rape of a seven-year old girl at Mebo Circle in East Siang district, Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) in a press release issued here today demanded justice for the victim.
Further, APCC stated that the ruling BJP Govt. is locked in an unreasonable war of words over the TAH controversy with APCC while violent crimes against minor girls and women are increasing in the State. The BJP government is not serious on these matters and also not working for the interest of the people of the State.
It accused the state government of maintaining stoic silence over the continuous occurrence of such criminal activities in the past many years and the victims were neither compensated nor criminals punished.
Since the inception of the present government, the APCC release said, the State has seen an increase of anti-social elements and also growth in sexual assault cases, mob lynching, gun culture, etc.
