BALIJAN, Sep 25: The District Administration and the Department of Disaster Management has organized a Community Awareness Programme on disaster management in collaboration with 12th BN NDRF, Doimukh at Indoor Stadium, Balijan today. With this, the two weeks familiarization exercise on disaster management under Papumpare District begins today wherein a team of 12th BN NDRF from Itanagar under the command of Inspector Vivek Kumar gave practical demonstration on search and rescue operations and lectures on safety tips of various disasters like earthquake, flood, landslides, fire etc. The team also demonstrated on preparation of search and rescue operations using resources available in every household.
Tasso Gambo, ADC, Balijan urged all the participants to be attentive during the programme and try to acquire knowledge on safety tips of various hazards which will help them in saving their lives and lives of others during emergency situations.
Similar awareness programmes and school safety programme on disaster management have been scheduled to be organized in various schools and community levels under various Sub-Divisions of Papumpare District.DIPRO
