Roing, May 10: The High Level Check Gate Quarantine Facilities Management Committee for Shantipur check gate in Lower Dibang Valley district headed by Minister, Tourism, Transport & Civil Aviation, Nakap Nalo and the MLAs of Dambuk and Roing- Gum Tayeng and Mutchu Mithi respectively as its members on Sunday visited the quarantine facility and check gate.
Members of the committee assessed the preparedness and facilities put in place for returning students and people and the team was accompanied by GM(APST) Abu Tayeng, DC Mitali Namchoom, SP S. K. Sain and DMO Dr. Radesh Tatan. 
Tourism Minister requested all to keep the district’s data flow updated and exhorted them to work together as a team to fight the pandemic. “We have to track and manage people coming inside our areas to stop the occurrence of any Covid-19 case in Lower Dibang Valley and Dibang Valley districts,” he added. The Minister while discussing the requests of the CBOs of the area opined that the rules should be suitable for local people and serve the districts' interest.
MLA Mutchu Mithi spoke on the need for community policing to regulate movement of people in porous borders and asked the Lower Dibang Valley DA to explore the possibility of paid quarantine facilities in the district.
DC Mitali Namchoom briefed the committee on the detailed SOPs followed and manpower placement at Shantipur check gate and highlighted the problems faced due to the return of people to Paglam via porous borders, Pobo and Amarpur ghats.The team inspected the quarantine centre set up at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya here and interacted with the students under quarantine and visited the Forest Training Institute. 
While inspecting the screening counters of Shantipur check gate, the Minister provided the DA with N95 and disposable masks for use by personnel manning the check gate. DIPRO
