ITANAGAR, Jan 22: The State Level Empowered Committee (SLEC) meeting for Techno-Economic vetting of DPRs under the Chairmanship of Chief Secretary Satya Gopal, approved under the North East Special Infrastructure Development Scheme (NESIDS) vetted seventeen projects with a total cost of Rs.342.38 Crore.
Director (DoNER), Ravindra Chaudhury, Principal Secretary (Home) Dr. AC Verma, Special Secretary Planning, Finance Secretary, Commissioners and Secretaries, concerned Chief Engineers, S. Mishra Nodal Officer for Techno- Economic Appraisal of DPRs NESIDS from NERIST and other officials were present in the SLEC meeting today.
The Chief Secretary while taking stock of the DPRs of 17 projects under NESIDS 2018-19 in a power point presentation made by Dr. Atop Lego, Chairman of Technical Boards NESIDS of schemes reiterated that the Technical Board and implementing departments will have to strictly adhere to the guidelines prescribed by the DoNER Ministry and the State government in letter and spirit.
Referring to a DPR of road construction from Longkhow to Pumao Circle Headquarters in Longding district, the CS also asked the engineers to venture into innovative technology while not compromising on quality and also considering the financial component. Nano technology in road construction is said to be great energy savings, faster schedule, better quality, reduced costs, and easy maintenance.
Stressing on value for money, he asked the engineers to adopt feasible and better technology which will bring out a durable infrastructure.

In order to have complete transparency, the Chief Secretary impressed upon the DoNER Ministry to conduct a third party monitoring committee which will inspect and verify the quality of the projects.

With a total costs of Rs. 342.38 (Rs. in Crore), the DPRs of seventeen projects comprising of road construction, school infrastructure development, and water supply were vetted in the SLEC which will be placed before the Inter Ministerial Committee on NESIDS.
Some of the important projects in water supply are augmentation of water supply at Aalo, Hapoli, Bhalukpong, and augmentation and improvement of water supply at Miao Township.
Construction of Rigid Pavement in Tawang Township, cc pavement of Likabali Township, construction of road from BRTF road to Pidi circle headquarters, construction of road from Likwa Gyadi to Gyawepurang Headquarters etc were some road projects approved by SLEC.
Infrastructure development for Government Higher Secondary School at Kanubari, Longding District, and infrastructure development of Sainik School at Niglok, East Siang District are some important school infrastructure development projects taken up during the meeting.
